Event Messaging

Inform 2008 Event Messaging provides an intelligent system that continuously monitors your business environment for dozens of events. The system detects events and exceptions that require awareness and response, and communicates a follow-up task in real time to the appropriate people.

This functionality lets your company minimize time-consuming manual chores, untracked business processes and repetitive data entry.

Special Order Event — When a special ordered or non-stock item comes in, inform 2008 will automatically generate a message to the appropriate salesperson or order-writer’s to-do list, giving your customer service team the opportunity to call or schedule the order for delivery. At the same time, order staging labels print and update the Sales Order Inquiry screen, keeping your ‘tag and hold’ orders under control.

Special PO Request Event — Improve customer service and eliminate manual order reviews by focusing your buyers on items where customers are waiting on material. This message immediately gives your buyers the alert they need to expedite inventory commitments. The special order requisition list consolidates requests, holding them until your buyer can decide to place a stock or alternate vendor PO – holding purchasing exceptions to a minimum, and updating the customer service team with special order status.

Gross Profit / Missing Cost Event — Inevitably, someone is going to build a customer order that does not meet your gross profit expectations. Even worse, orders that are missing costs or even sell prices can slip through, introducing accounting and financial reporting errors. Inform 2008 automatically generates low gross profit and missing cost / sell price messages to the designated managers, and suspends those orders. As a result, you can head off possible problems before they occur.

A/R Collection Event — Trap orders for customers who are becoming credit risks with automatic, real-time aging and credit-limit checks during order entry. Inform 2008 notifies your collection department as soon as a credit risk order is created and holds the order. Every day, inform 2008 sends a message to collection personnel with a list of customers to call and the overdue amount.

Critical Inventory Event — Operating in real time, the low-stock message tells purchasing agents which lines or vendors they need to review and either make a line-buy — to stock their shelves — or do a fill-in buy for committed sales. Inform 2008 automatically calculates stock minimums and order quantities from your sales, lost sales, and seasonal demand trend.

Stock Transfer EventInform 2008 can automatically analyze your branch stock levels and generate automated replenishment transfers. As these transfers are created, personnel from both incoming and outgoing warehouses are notified, assuring them that the material they need to fulfill orders is in-transit.

Large PO Warning Event – Monitor exceptional branch purchases by sending an event message to a General Manager or owner when purchase orders exceed a branch-designated level.

Large Sales Order Event – Monitors exceptionally large customer orders to keep management abreast of potential pricing and inventory issues or successful bids.

Outside Sales Order EventInform 2008 supply chain integrations accept orders from the internet.

Quote Follow-up Event — Help sales personnel track sales opportunities and bids, demonstrate professional follow-up, and remember to ask their customer for the sale.
